Goldisthal Pumped Storage Station

The Goldisthal Pumped Storage Station is a pump-fed power station in the Thüringer slate mountains at the upper run of the Schwarza between Goldisthal and disk when brook and in the year 2003 in enterprise was taken. Facility

History of construction

From the outset planning was very disputed for the building of this power station and led to the broad resistance in particular from groups of environmental protection, in particular from FEDERATION and the Green League, those the large-scale project not only because of the landschaftlichen and ecological interference (the area concerned was among other things a habitat of the Auerhühner threatened by becoming extinct), but also as " Energiefresser" strongly criticized.
